Kiwi Sport

This week is the last week of kiwi sport/Swimming, Our term of swimming has come to a end which means next term which is term 4 we wont be doing swimming and we will be doing a diffrent sport.
This week we also did new things, We have done - Dolphin dive, Duck dive & we also did the rotation stradgie.

Girls have lighter legs than boys do which means that girls float better than boys do and boys are better at sinking because their legs are heavyer than girls legs.
Duck dive:
For duck dive your head goes into the water first and then your feet go in, To do this dive you must go under water and than go back up to breathe. This stradgie is hard because you have to make sure your head goes in the water first but instead you float, This is what happend to me when I was doing the duck dive.

Dolphin Dive:
For the dolphin dive you have to make sure your legs are toegether, First you have to kick off the platform and this helps by giving you a better boost. For this stradgie you also have to wriggle your body and that is why this stradgie is called dolphin dive because you have to wriggle. Whats hard in this stradgie is that you have to keep your legs together.

Rotation:
For this stradgie you have to start on your tummy first, Then you move onto your back. In this stardgie you have to kick six times then roll onto the other side. The only thing that is hard for me in this stradgie is rolling onto my sides.

Kiwi Sport/Swimming

This week for Kiwi Sport we did swimming, At swimming we learnt new skills.
Before you enter a pool you must make sure you are sitting on the entering part then turn onto your other side after this you can enter the pool.

To do this stradigie you have to put your hands toegether, One on top of the other, Then you have to kick off the platfrom as you kick off you have to keep your head down and put one hand down and the other has to go up to the side.

After we did that stardigie we played a game, In this game there are toys that look like fish.
For this game you have to find the toy in the water and then you have to return to the platform. This game includes finding things and in this game you can stand and find the toy.

For our next stradgie we had to do the dolphin dive, For this stradigie you have to go under water and then go back in the water when you feel like you need to breathe. You can also do anouther dolphin stradigie, For this stradgie you have to wriggle your body ontop of the water but you have to keep your legs toegether for both of the stradgies.

After this we had to leave to go back to school, When we leave we also give James a high five when we leave the pool and this means after we give James a high five we can do any stradgie we want before we go.

Swimming

This week for kiwi sport we went swiming, When you enter a pool one of the safest ways to get in is when you sit down and go into the pool by turning onto the other side of your back. Another way to enter the pool is when you put one of your arms onto your chest and your other arm covering your mouth, This is called the pencil.

This week for swimming we had to swim on our backs, For this skill you have to lay on your back and use your hands to go foward and back. For the next skill we had to use are arms and legs, For this skill you have to move your arms foward and back and with your legs you have to make big circles.

For the next skill we could do any skill we wanted to, Also there is one rule - (You can't touch the ground or wall). For this game you can only swim mostly on top of the water, This game is fun because you can do any skill. The skill I choosed was the rotate skill.

Kiwi Sport/Swimming

Kiwi Sport
This week for kiwi sport James and Kelly gave us each one life jacket, After we had been given a tight life jacket we had to sit on the edge of the pool. Then we had to cover our mouth and put our other hand over our life jacket and take one big step out into the pool.

After we got into the pool we had to stand up against the pool so Kelly and James could tell us what to do next, I was used to lie on my back and float. Kelly told me to hold onto the life jacket of Kaitlyn, We had to make a chain by holding on to one persons life jacket-(We only had to hold onto one persons life jacket that is at the end of us).

For the next thing we did we had to go under water and try touch the ground, This is really hard when you are wearing a life jacket because a life jacket is meant to hold your head ubove water so you dont drowend. I find this hard beacuse you have to touch the ground with a life jacket on.

Next we had to swim to one end of the pool and swim half way to the other side, We had to swim on our tummys. This is a really easy skill to do but you have to do really slow.

Swimming

This week for swimming our swimming teachers Camron,Kelly & James taught us what to do when your stuck in the water.

This week for swimming we talked about what to do when your in a
river or at a beach and your drowding. This week we also learnt a new swimming skill.

For swimming James was talking to us about what to do when your drowding, James and
Camron demonstrated what to do when your drowding. Camron and James told us to put our
hand up and yell help as loud as we can.

After James and Camron taught us what to do when were drowding, James and Camron let us
try it for our self with a noddle. James, Camron and Kelly told us to get into a group of two.

When we were finished getting into a group of two, One of us had to get into the pool and yell
help. The person saving the person in the pool had to lie on their tummy. If you dont lie on your
tummy you'll be stuck in the water too.

Lastly we tried one more skill, We tried moving our legs and arms in circles. As we moved our
arms and legs in circles we had to yell help, This is another way to get someones atention
and not drownd.

Swimming

This week for swimming we talked about what to do when your in a
river or at a beach. This week we also learnt new skills for swimming.

James talked about what to do if your stuck in a river, If your at a
river and you are stuck you have to watch out for rocks, branches and
trees. James said we have to avoid rocks, branches and trees.

James talked about what to do if your stuck in the water at the beach,
If your stuck in the water these are the 3 things you will have to do.

First you put both of your arms up to make the person look at you,
Then you yell help as loud as you can to get the person's attention
and Lastly to show that you need help you put on arm straight up and
yell help at the same time.

This week for swimming we learnt new skills, For the first skill we had to dive down and try make our chest touch the floor. This skill is a good skill because it helps you hold your breath if there is a big wave.

For the next skill we used our backs, First we had to lie on our backs
and gently kick. For this skill you have to keep your body straight if
you don't keep your body straight you will sink.

For the next skill we had to rotate, First we had to push off the
platform and then kick six times. After kicking six times you have
to turn onto your back, when you turn onto your back it's important
not to move your body or you'll sink.

Kiwi Sport-Swimming

Swimming-

LI: To learn more swimming skills.
This week for swimming we have been learning new swimming skills.

First-Getting in the pool:To entre the pool we had to put our hands together, One on top of the other and the we gentaly jumed in.
Another way to jump in is to take one big step, Then jump in lightly like a pencil.

Skills-To do the first skill you have to put your hands toegether, One on top of the other, Then you have to kick off the small trapoline. As you kick off you have to keep your head down and put one hand down and the other has to go up to the side.

For the next skill we had to lie on our backs and kick off a little bit, As we kick we have to look up at the roof so we dont slowly sink.
For this skill we had to rotate as we rotate we have to breathe in air and then we breathe out air through our noses in the water.

Snag-

This week for kiwi sport we have been doing Snag, In this game we used a few sports items. In the first game we had to get into a group of three, In our group of three we had to use three tennis balls. We had to gentaly throw them to hit the target. In the next game we had to bring a hola hoop in the middle, Then we had to try get one ball each and get it into the hola hoop. In the next round we had to get three balls onto the target. If we get it on red thats ten points, If we get blue thats 5 points and if we get it on the target that will be 1 point. We had to get the lowest points.

Kiwi Sport-Swimming

This week for kiwi sport we did swimming.
Our swimming teacher was James, James taught us how to do some swimming things.

How to entre the pool-To entre the pool we had to put our hands together, One on top of the other and the we gentaly jumed in.
Another way to jump in is to take one big step, Then jump in lightly like a pencil.

Swimming Stradiges
When we got in the pool we did one swimming stradigie first, The first swimming stradige we did was kind of hard but I think I did a little good. To do the first stradige you have to put your hands toegether, One on top of the other, Then you have to kick off thesmall trapoline. As you kick off you have to keep your head down and put one hand down and the other has to go up to the side.
For the next stradige you have to have two swimming toys,First you drop the two swimming toys on the ground, Then we have to go get the toys at the bottom of the pool.

The 3rd stradige we did we did was done on our backs, We had to lie on our backs and kick a little bit and move our arms up and down like a jellyfish. The 4th stradige we did was the rotation, For the rotation you have to lie on your tummy and move your arms around the sides for six seconds and then turn to your back and move your arms up and down.
